Thank you for your continuous support towards the activities of WKO.
In Japan, the rainy season has ended earlier than the average year, and we have entered the hot summer. With the hot weather every day, we are soaked with sweat during our trainings. I hope that all of you are doing fine in your country and region.
As WKO, the preparation work for the 7th World Karate Championship in Weight Categories is gaining momentum. On June 17, Shihan Remigiusz Karpinski and Shihan Bogdan Lubos from the host country Poland visited Japan to carry out the tournament draw meeting together with the WKO Officials. The exchange with overseas WKO Branch Chiefs, which had stopped after the EFKO European Championship organized by Belgium in January 2020 and the Guam Seminar in February 2020, was restarted after approximately two and a half years. In this period, we had communicated through online meetings, but it was touching to interact directly with the host country members. Especially as the organizer of the event, they have overcome various difficulties, postponing the tournament twice due to the COVID-19 crisis, and the worsening of the situation in Ukraine, so it is difficult to describe in words, the happiness I felt inside me when I saw both Shihans in Tokyo. I would like to express my sincere appreciation and respect towards their strong will to overcome various hardships with their never give up spirit and realize the holding of this tournament.
With such feelings and thoughts in mind, we proceeded with the tournament draw meeting. This will be the first world level tournament in 3 years, with the previous opportunity being the 12th World Open Karate Championship in 2019. It was a solemn process, or even close to a ceremony, where we placed the name tags of the competitors, which symbolized the effort they continued in their trainings during the COVID-19 crisis, on the blank tournament draw. Setting the fair seed rank based on past tournament records, the positions distributed to each region and consideration of the priority within the region, the return of positions from regions that were unable to fill the full quota of competitors, the distribution of returned positions to other regions, and the promotion of reserve competitors for inclusion in the draw. Through this careful and thorough process, the tournament draw was carried out. Even after this, each category was checked carefully to adjust the total balance and finalize the draw. This solemn process, is a symbol of respect towards the honest effort of the competitors who have made use of each moment of each day to continue their trainings. The path to reach the No.1 in the world will become clear very soon, and I am sure that this path, which has required battles with the COVID-19 crisis and drastic changes in the international community, will turn out to be a different view compared to other tournaments. The feelings and thoughts of each competitor, the desire and hope of the family and friends that have supported them, and the prayers of the comrades who want to but are not able to participate in this tournament. The honor and pride of the host country to organize the event after overcoming various obstacles. I wish for the competitors to shoulder everything and give their best performance. We will meet each other soon. I would like for the competitors to train more than anyone else and reach their goal of becoming the No.1 in the world.
In Japan, we will be organizing the Karate Dream Festival 2022 National Championship on July 23-24. All generations from young children to senior, all classes from beginner to expert, Kumite and Kata, all categories from individual to group. The battle stage opened to all directions, has become a mega event with the total participation of more than 3,000 competitors. By organizing a tournament of this scale in Japan for the world to see, and by realizing the online viewing of the tournament, I hope the Karateka around the world will feel the courage and energy of the competitors. We plan to hold this event in 2024 as an international tournament, so I will be looking forward to seeing many competitors from various countries around the world.
The situation in the international community is unstable and changing daily. The prolonging of the COVID-19 crisis and the situation in Ukraine. In terms of international conflicts, not only in Ukraine, but also in Afghanistan, confusion and instability has continued for a while. I have received reports from Branch Chief Abasin Shinwari of the struggle he is having. I am praying for the restoration of peace in the world as quickly as possible. In addition, the photos and videos of the trainings held around the world that can be viewed on social media. To endure suffering that cannot be described in words, and to continue training in a silent manner. From the images, I can sense their inner feelings and thoughts. Regardless of what happens, we are friends. In any situation, we should always consider our comrades. Let us strive to become such kind and strong people, and become victors in our lives.

Уважаемые Бранч Чифы и Руководители спортивных залов! В Японии дождливый сезон завершился раньше чем в предыдущие годы, и сразу наступило настоящее лето. Жаркая погода стоит каждый день. В тренировке мы всегда все в поту. Как вы все поживаете в мире? В нашей организации WKO активно идет подготовительная работа для 7-го Всемирного Чемпионата в Весовых Категориях. 17 июня, мы пригласили в Японию Шихана Ремигиуш Карпински и Шихана Богдан Лубос из страны-устроительницы Польши, и они имели совещание с директорами WKO для организации Чемпионата. Обмен встречи между бранч чифами в зарубежных странах, который долго не реализовался после Европейского Чемпионата EFKO, организованного в Бельгии в январе 2020-го и Семинара в Гуаме в феврале 2020 года, вновь открылся после интервала в два с половиной года. До сих пор мы поддерживали связь посредством видео конференций в интернете, в этот раз меня сильно тронуло, что, наконец, реализована долгожданная прямая встреча с руководством страны-устроительницы. Как организаторы этого мероприятия, они преодолели различные трудности и приехали в Токио, дважды отложив турнир из-за кризиса COVID-19 и ухудшения ситуации на Украине. Поэтому мне было просто невозможно выразить в словах то счастье, которое я испытывал в момент встречи с ними. Я хотел бы выразить мою глубокую благодарность и уважение к их сильному стремлению преодолевать всякие препятствия для реализации этого турнира.
С таким настроем и мыслями мы приступили к совещанию по турниру. Это будет первый турнир на мировом уровне после трехлетнего перерыва. Последним был 12-ый Открытый Мировой Чемпионат Карате в 2019 году. В торжественном процессе, похожем на церемонию розыгрыша, мы положили в пустом бланке личный знак конкурентов, который символизирует их усилие в тренировке во время кризиса COVID-19. Розыгрыш на турнир был тщательно разработан с учетом следующих факторов. Справедливое установление сида в последних турнирных достижениях, квота участников в каждом регионе и рассмотрение приоритета внутри региона и возвращении квоты от регионов, которые не смогут отправить конкурентов в турнир и размещение возвращенных квот в других регионах и включение запасных конкурентов на розыгрыш в турнир, и так далее. Даже после этих мер, каждая категория была проверена внимательно на регулировку общей ситуации, и так совершится розыгрыш. Этот важный процесс означает знак нашего уважения к справедливым усилиям конкурентов, которые использовали каждый момент каждого дня, чтобы продолжить свои тренировки. Эта дорога ведет к первенству в мире, хоть по пути возникали кризис COVID-19 и резкие изменения международной общественной ситуации. Этот чемпионат будет проведен в совсем другой обстановке по сравнению с другими турнирами. Здесь есть чувства и мышления каждого конкурента, желание и надежда семей и друзей, которые поддерживают их, и молитва товарищей, которые к сожалению не успевают участвовать в турнире вопреки своим сильным желаниям. Так же отмечена гордость организатора этого турнира. Я желаю участникам брать все на их плечо и продемонстрировать лучшие выступления в боях. Мы скоро увидимся друг с другом. Я надеюсь, что участники соревнования тренируются усерднее других, и достигнут глобальной цели первенства в мире.
В Японии 23-24 июля мы собираемся провести Национальный Чемпионат The Каrате Dream Festival 2022. В этом чемпионате предусмотрено участие всех поколений от маленьких детей до старших взрослых, и всех курсов, начиная с первоначального курса до высшей квалификации. Кроме того, Кумите и Ката и все категории, от отдельных лиц до групп, также предусмотрены. В открытом фронте в боях, расширенных до всех направлений, участвуют больше 3000 спортсменов, и составляется крупнейшее соревнование. Я желаю, что Каратисты во всем мире почувствовали бодрый и здоровый дух, посмотрев эти соревнования по сети Интернет. Мы планируем провести эту мероприятию как международное соревнование в 2024 году, и ждем вашего участия со всего мира.
Нестабильная ситуация в международном сообществе продолжается и меняется каждый день. Продолжающийся кризис COVID-19 и ситуация на Украине. Международный конфликт находится не только на Украине, но и в Афганистане не заканчиваются общественные беспорядки. Я получил доклад от Бранч Чифа Абасин Синвари о трудностях, которые он испытает.
