Date: February 13-15, 2015
Place: Malang, Indonesia
Organizer: WKO Indonesia Branch

In a difficult situation such as present time, especially in financial problems, resulting in declining condition of the spirit, Seminar Shinkyokushin Karate still can be taken place smoothly. The committee became nervous because only 20 participants registered until close to the deadline. However, once the deadline is over, almost 70 participants from East Kutai, Samarinda, Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang, Ungaran, Kediri, Jember, Surabaya and Malang registered. Some of who are far away said they could not attend because they have to save money for the Indonesia Open which will be held on May 2, 2015 in Bali.

First day of training began in the early morning on Saturday, February 14th, 2015 outside the building of University Machung. Exercises include Kihon, Ido Kihon and the correction which is still found in some participants. This is important to follow the Karate Seminar in order to continue to monitor the accuracy of the technique that has often done so far and there may be adjustments and/or changes towards a more precise understanding.

Shihan J.B. Sujoto said that each follow Karate Seminar in abroad, always find a more precise understanding of the techniques that have been known previously. Thus we get more knowledge of the Kyokushin techniques which were taught by Sosai Mas Oyama. Do not ever feel already know and no need to seek out more about the techniques that have been mastered.
When Sosai was still with us, he always said that up to 50 years he mastered karate, he still continued to watch his fist to find a more appropriate way.
The initial training was completed once the sun began to sting and dazzle around 8 a.m. All back to the camp for breakfast and had to go back again at 10 a.m. to continue the second exercise.

At 10 a.m., all had gathered again in Machung, the weather suddenly turned into rain. Fortunately Machung had a great hall that was not being used for other activities, so that all could practice inside the building.
The second exercise was specifically for Kata because there were 15 members who signed up for the black belt exam. The time allotted was still too short, to the end at 1 p.m., was still lacking time.

Senpai Nanang from Kediri Branch appealed for holding a Special Training for Kata for 2-3 days in order to be able to master it. This desire as expected by Shihan JB Sujoto, due to the willingness was completely out of their own accord, rather than force from outside. We often see the situations where because lack of mastery Kata, so the Instructor only provide exercise Kumite and Kata left behind.
Though we really know that Kihon, Kata and Kumite, all must be mastered in a balanced manner.

At 7 p.m., as usual, in the Hall of lodging of participants, all gathered together and dialogue with Shihan JB Sujoto and the Board Members who were present …… On the gathering, Shihan JB. Sujoto motivated all black belts who are still capable of doing Kumite in order to take part in the 4th Indonesia Open Karate Championship scheduled for May 2, 2015 in Denpasar, Bali. Although there are about 10 countries that will be present, there is no need to be reluctant because the majority of participants are from Southeast Asia and East Asia.
About 11 persons who were present in the Karate Seminar, immediately enrolled after receiving boost of spirit in the discussion.

Sunday morning, February 15, 2015, all gathered in the Hall to run Dan Test of 15 participants. Those who did not participate in the Exam also participated doing Kihon at behind.
After running the test of Kihon – Ido Kihon, Kata session was conducted in accordance levels respectively. In the first session, all the participants passed and only two had to be snatched back their points at the second session. The second session exam was Kumite. Each participant must run kumite 10 times in rotation without stopping. There were a few who intended to give up because of fatigue … but encouragement of all made them motivated to continue to the end of the Kumite test.
Finally, all successfully completed Kumite well and passed the exam.
All were relieved because they already reached it with all their strength to overcome all the pressure that arises during the test and finally they managed to win against themselves.

Chairman of the Committee, Senpai Willliam Eliazer, coach dojo Machung, surprisingly said that he has already prepared Tumpengan for the celebration of The 33rd Anniversary of Shinkyokushin Indonesia that were supposed to date January 25, 2015.
All pray fervently for developing of Shinkyokushin Indonesia in order to be more beneficial to all members and for the society. The Seminar ended around at 12 p.m.
Sayonara…. Till we meet again next year………….
