With nearly 100 participations from Hungarian full contact organizations, the Hungarian Championship had high quality and spectacular fights. During the opening ceremony, Dr. Janos Meszaros, President of the Karate Federation and Vice President of the Hungarian Olympic Committee together with Arpad Kalmar, Secretary General of the Karate Federation and organizer of the competition gave special awards to the guests of the championship, also to the patrons and prominent guests, to Shihan Attila Mészáros, WKO Vice President and to Shihan Kálmán Furkó, HFKO President.
Besides the Kata and the Kumite competitions, breaking competition and spectacular martial arts demonstrations were presented to the audience of the fully sold-out hall.
Qualifier competitions took place on three tatamis in parallel in the morning, and in the afternoon, the finals of the best 4 competitors continued on the center tatami.
The two outstanding full contact karatekas and multiple European Champions, Gábor Rózsa and Csenge Szepesi also won this year, furthermore, Attila Toth, nearly 20 times European Championship medallist, also won the best prize in his Kata category.
This championship was a qualification event for the upcoming European Championship held in Poland, as well as for the World Championship in Tokyo at the end of October.
The guest of honor for the Championship, WKO Vice President Attila Mészáros, is a karate master living in Sweden and founder of the Hungarian Kyokushin Karate, and he gave special awards to the champions of this prestigious event.
