On 11 – 13 March 2022, the annual technical seminar for black belts and referee course took place at the European Budo Centre Dojo Stara Wieś.

This year, the main theme of the EKO Seminar, as well as the referee course, was Kata. The main trainings were conducted by legendary European Shihan: Brian Fitkin and Howard Collins. Each kata was presented and discussed in front of all participants and then perfected in groups led by EKO technical committee members, Shihan: Jan Bulow, Remigiusz Karpiński, Eugeniusz Dadzibug, Anca Walmen and Michael Soderkvist.

The EKO refereeing course was conducted by Shihan Michael Soderkvist and Jan Bulow. Parallel to the EKO refereeing course, a national refereeing course for PFKS members was conducted by the Chairman of the PFKS Refereeing Commission Shihan Wojciech Radziewicz.

Because of the situation in Ukraine, Sayonara party had a completely different dimension than usual. It was difficult to have the style which prevailed in previous years. Therefore, Shihan Brian Fitkin and Shihan Howard Collins were asked to share with the participants the stories from the beginnings of their karate history, memories and tales from the first karate trainings, from the first days spent in Japan with Sosai Oyama and from the first karate tournaments.
