I am pleased to inform you that the Kumite Championship 2025 organized by the WKO Sri Lanka Branch – The School of Karate was successfully conducted on the 4th of February 2025 at the Club Fusion Indoor Stadium in Colombo.
The tournament was a vibrant display of skill & discipline with over 90 students participating under the watchful eye of Branch Chief Sensei Mahesh Gayan Amarasinghe.
The tournament began with a warm-up session followed by basic punching and kicking drills. The tournament featured competitions across various age groups from under 6 to over 18 years in both male & female categories.
Esteemed black belt sempai’s including Viduna, Dewna,Gahanath, Venuk,Thushara & Sethumi, and Branch Chief Amarasinghe as the main judge, ensured fairness & expertise in judgement. Winners were celebrated with Medals, Trophies & Certificates, embodying the spirit of achievement & martial arts excellence.
The kumite championship 2025 not only showcased emerging talents in karate but also benchmark for future tournaments.it, which shows growing prominence of Shinkyokushinkai Karate in the region, driven by a commitment to tradition ,innovation & the fostering of a supportive community.
