186 Karateka from Austria, Bulgaria, Japan, Netherlands, Poland, and Ukraine participated in the summer camp organized by the PFKS (Polish Shinkyokushinkai Karate Federation) in Katowice on August 22-25.
Special guests were Shihan Yasuharu Fujihara 7 Dan, Sensei Valeri Dimitrov 4 Dan, and Sensei Tsutomu Murayama 3 Dan. Before the camp, the instructors held a meeting at the Town Hall with the President of Katowice, Waldemar Bojaryn. After the camp, guests visited the historic Wieliczka Salt Mine and Krakow.
The trainings were mostly devoted to kumite practice, which was run by open weight World Vice Champion Murayama and 19-time European Champion Valeri Dimitrov, but also under the careful eye of Shihan Fujihara. Khon, Ido, and Kata were also trained.
There were also trainings to prepare for the exam for kyu and dan degrees. 44 people took the exam.
On Saturday morning, for the Karate Shinkyokushnkai promotion, a demonstration took place in the center of Katowice. Polish Television interviewed the instructors, and the coverage of the camp was broadcasted on television.
