The 8th Summer Outdoor Karate Training of WKO Shinkyokushinkai Philippines took place at Edna’s Camping Site and Beach Resort in Calatagan, Batangas, on May 1–2, 2025.
With crashing waves as their backdrop and the summer sun fueling their resolve, karatekas from across the country gathered for two unforgettable days of intense training, unwavering camaraderie, and personal triumph. Members of the Clyde TELUS Digital Karate Club also attended the camp, showcasing discipline and dedication.
Sensei Richard Picar, Branch Chief of WKO Shinkyokushinkai Philippines, led the event, supported by instructors Sensei Albert Baquiran, Sensei Jane Dee Capili, Sensei Ram Cierva, Sensei Paul Mangahis, and Senpai Hanzel Raguine. They guided participants through challenging physical and mental exercises.
At the heart of the event was the grading exam, where 22 karatekas, including members of Clyde TELUS Digital Karate Club, bravely took the challenge. Each promotion earned was more than just a new belt—it was a symbol of unwavering spirit, countless hours of practice, and a deep commitment to the way of Shinkyokushinkai.
Adding to the intensity and spirit of the training were the families, supporters, and friends who stood by their karatekas. Their cheers, encouragement, and unwavering support energized the beachside dojo and made every achievement even more meaningful.
Set against the untamed beauty of Calatagan’s shoreline, this camp wasn’t just an event—it was a celebration of strength, unity, and growth. It proved once more that Shinkyokushinkai is not only about martial arts, but also about shaping character, building community, and igniting purpose.
