The annual Karate Seminar and Black Belt Examination took place on 27th and 28th March in Salatiga city of Central Java. After being postponed one month from the original schedule, finally, the event was carried out smoothly. Amid the Covid-19 pandemic, around 120 out of 157 registered members participated.
The participants arrived at Hotel D’Emmerick Kopeng Salatiga on Friday, and the training started on Saturday morning.
After the breakfast, all members trained Kihon and Ido together, then continued the training until 13:00, dividing into three groups. The participants, who would like to take higher Dan, repeatedly practiced new Kata for the next exam. Everyone enjoyed a group photo, and after lunch, the participants continued with the free program; swimming, taking walks in the city of Salatiga, enjoying the beautiful view from the hotel.
Meanwhile, the regional administrators attended the National Meeting to plan future programs in 2021, such as National Championship for Youth and Adults, as well as the 23rd Indonesia Open Championship when things get better.
On Sunday morning, while 17 members attended Dan Test held at the Main Hall, 16 of them passed the exam, including Kihon, Ido, and Kata, and continued to the second session of the Kumite exam. The 10 Men Kumite exams in turns were completed without intervals. Even though some had wanted to give up, thanks to supporters and examiners’ support, they finally carried it through to the end. They all passed and were entitled to receive certificates from WKO Shinkyokushinkai.
