The 12th edition of the Greek Winter Camp was conducted in Chania of Mountain Pelion from 3 to 5 February, organized by the Greek Shinkyokushinkai Association,with the co-organization of the Region of Thessaly – Regional Unit of Magnesia.
A 3-day camp was full of activities and hard training at the “Manthos Hotel and Spa Resort” in the snowy mountain of the Centaurs.
Approximately 60 trainers and athletes of the Greek Shinkyokushinkai enjoyed this opportunity with their official instructors, Shihan George Kosmidis, the country representative, and Shihan Otarios Melikiadis.
The morning training sessions took place outside the hotel, starting with running in the snowy landscape under harsh cold conditions, while the afternoon training sessions took place in the hotel’s indoor basketball court where there was a Greek Shinkyokushinkai tatami mat, as planned.
On this occasion, the awarding of the 6th Dan to Shihan George Kosmidis and Shihan Otarios Melikiadis was made by the Secretary General of the Greek Shinkyokushinkai Sensei Vicky Kosmidou.
On Sunday morning, the training took place outside the hotel as befits to Full Contact karate athletes and trainers. Then, the 1st Dan exam process began for 6 athletes and trainers with KIHON – KATA – IDO GEIKO, and at noon it was completed with KUMITE (full contact matches).
