On February 18, 2023, early in the morning as many as 93 members of Shinkyokushin Karate began to gather for their first activity by doing Kihon and Ido Exercises. Due to the rain, practice was not held at Kuta beach and was moved to the main hall. The exercise was led by Shihan Shinichi Sotodate until 08:00 am as planned. As overseas participants, a student from India attended the seminar while those from China and Sri Lanka had to cancel for certain reasons. Members ages 15 to 69 mingled enthusiastically following the directions of Shihan Sotodate.
After breakfast, the second practice continued from 10:00am to 12:30pm. This time, Shihan Sotodate led a special black belt course in the Main Hall. Colored belts practice was led by Shihan J.B. Sujoto on the beach because the rain had stopped.
Black belt holders received training in Advance Kata from Shihan Sotodate while colored belt holders practiced Kata and Ippon Kumite.
At 1:00pm, Shihan Sotodate was escorted around Bali until evening. The others also scattered to enjoy their respective events. Meanwhile the leaders of WKO Shinkyokushinkai Indonesia held a meeting to discuss future activities such as the Indonesia Open, the Indonesia Shinkyokushin Karate Festival which is planned for June 2023 in Bandung.
On February 19, at 09:00 am, the Dan Test was conducted. There were 19 examinees while 4 people canceled the participation. Those who had not taken the examination attended training activities on the beach led by the other Branch Chiefs, Sensei Mario Christi Suyoto, Sensei Amidin, and Sensei Ruddy Haryanto. They returned to the Main Hall prior to the Kumite examination. The Dan Test ended around 12:30 pm. Unfortunately, there was one member who failed the test. Everyone was happy with the teachings of Shihan Sotodate and everyone scrambled to take pictures with him.
