The 6th Shinkyokushin Karate Iran Festival was successfully held in Tehran on September 10 and 11, 2026, with the participation of Shinkyokushin athletes from various provinces and regions across Iran.
The competition was held in two sections, boys and girls, specifically for athletes under 16 years of age. The entire competition was conducted with the cooperation of the Executive, Technical, and Refereeing Committees of the Iran Branch.
In terms of organizational order, technical quality of the competitions, performance of the refereeing staff, and overall event management, the tournament was held to a high standard. Every effort was made to conduct all stages of the competition in a professional and well-organized environment, in accordance with the principles and standards of Shinkyokushin.
The presence of a number of distinguished guests and prominent officials from Iran’s karate community was also an important aspect of the event. Among them were the official representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran Karate Federation, as well as presidents and officials of several other karate styles, who attended the competition venue and observed the proceedings firsthand. Their presence demonstrated the significance and standing of this event within Iran’s karate community.
One of the most valuable and memorable parts of the opening ceremony was the reading of a special message from Shihan Yasukazu Koi, delivered by Sensei Asef Shaghaghi, to the athletes, coaches, referees, organizers, and families. The message was received with great enthusiasm by those present and created considerable excitement, motivation, and happiness among the athletes and participants. For the young athletes, hearing a message from Shihan Koi was a valuable and inspiring moment.
Overall, the successful organization of this festival, with the participation of a large number of athletes and families, as well as distinguished officials and special guests from Iran’s karate community, demonstrated that Shinkyokushin in Iran continues to have significant potential for development, growth, and the nurturing of a new generation of athletes.
